You can change the local network access for an app on an iphone by going to settings > privacy & security > local network > then toggling access on or off for an app. Toggle permissions on or off as needed. I would like to manually give it access because it currently is not able to connect to another machine on my network.

Go to settings > privacy > local network.
If you are not on the same network, things just won’t. Scroll down and tap privacy. Tap local network, then turn access on or off for any app listed. To enable local network access for an app, simply tap on the switch beside its name.
If you're concerned about why an app wants access to your local network or how access is used, you can also contact the app. Toggle the switch next to each app to grant or deny access.
